Points to note on the day of pre-LASIK eye examination
The eye examination will take about 1 to 2 hours.
During the eye examination, pupil dilating eye drops may be applied. As a result of this, the patient will experience blurred vision, especially when looking at close objects. The effects will last for an average of 4 to 6 hours to up to 24 hours.
Bring along a pair of sun glasses.
Do not drive when the pupil is still in dilation.
Before the LASIK procedure, patients are required to go through a comprehensive eye examination to evaluate if they are fit for LASIK.
Items in LASIK eye examination:
Visual acuity and refraction examination
Pupil measurement
Corneal topography, thickness and shape measurement
Aberration evaluation
Tear quality assessment
General eye health check, covering such as eye pressure, glaucoma, cataract and retinal health
